ACT 148 - Wilderness Preparation Skills1 credit The course will focus on lifetime outdoor skills and applications necessary to prepare for activities in a wilderness environment. It will include CPR / AED American Red Cross certification; Wilderness and Remote First Aid American Red Cross certification; overland navigation skills; preparedness for field movement to include personal clothing, field gear, weather and terrain issues, communications and safety in the field. Lab events will include American Red Cross certifications, map reading with a land navigation practical exercise, shelter building, fire craft, and culminating with a terminal exercise in a wilderness setting.
