The Web Development and Administration program will prepare students to utilize current and emerging web development tools. This degree will prepare technicians who are knowledgeable in computer support, network support, and be able to create and manage an organization’s web presence. The degree is unique in that it has a major focus in the organization and management aspects of web sites as well as web page creation. This degree can be completed in two years and graduates will work developing a new web presence or manage and administer previously designed sites.
Objectives
- Students will demonstrate competencies in computer maintenance and support.
- Students will demonstrate basic competencies in network device configurations and network design principles.
- Students will demonstrate competencies in current network operating systems as they pertain to web hosting activities.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Outcomes
- Graduates will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in essential skills to obtain employment in the Information Technology arena.
- Graduates will have experienced a relevant work-place environment.
