Welding Technology, A.A.S.


Objectives

  • To provide students with an exceptional curriculum that encourages professional welding techniques following exacting national welding certifications.
  • To support students in their pursuit of life-time learning and professional development.
  • To provide students opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • To provide students opportunities to work function as part of a team.
  • To prepare students for employment as entry-level welders.

 

Outcomes

Graduates of the Welding Technology program at Highlands College of Montana Tech will:

  • Produce welds in all positions in accordance to national welding standards.
  • Demonstrate fabrication skills in diverse manufacturing environments in a conscientious, precise, and deliberate manner.
  • Demonstrate a solid knowledge base conducive to educational and employment mobility.
  • Utilize fabrication machinery and equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Utilize interpersonal communication techniques in individual group settings.
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for decisions and actions taken in the work environment.
