GEOP 402 - Introduction to Applied Geophysics3 credits (Hrs: 2 Lec. 3 lab) The basics of common geophysical methods, seismic refraction, seismic reflection, electrical resistivity, gravity, and magnetic, will be covered. Emphasis will be on the fundamental theory of measurement of the physical properties of the subsurface earth material, instrumentation, field data collection, processing and interpretation for applications in earth science and engineering.
Prerequisite(s): PHSX 237 or consent of instructor. Course generally offered 1st semester.
