Exercise and Health Science, B.S.


The Program Educational Objectives (PEO) of the EHS Department are to produce graduates who:

  1. Successfully practice in the exercise and heal science profession as demonstrated by

    1. continued professional employment,

    2. job promotion,

    3. expanded career responsibility

  2. Successfully complete an advanced degree (e.g., MD, PA, OT, PT)

  3. Continue professional development as demonstrated by

    1. society membership and participation,

    2. continued education,

    3. related volunteerism

Student Outcomes

  1. Have a general working knowledge of Exercise Science including Exercise Phsiology, Anatomical Kinesiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Exercise Prescription.

  2. Be proficient in using basic human performance assessment equipment and techniques in both laboratory and field settings.

  3. Be able to apply their knowledge to a variety of problems related to exercise and health science.

  4. Have effective oral and written communication skills.

  5. Be able to use scientific literature.

**Students testing into and earning a C- or above in M 171 may substitute Professional Electives for the 4 credit hours allocated to M 151. (See *** below.)

*** Professional Electives:100 level or higher engineering, biological science, chemistry, geology, OSH, PHYX, STAT, IH, NRSG, KIN, NUTR, AHS or M (141 or higher).

Free Electives: Any course 100 level or above

All students in Exercise and Health Science must meet the general education core requirements of the college.
