EMAT 471 - Materials Characterization & Analysis3 credits (Hrs: 2 Lec., 3 Lab) This course provides an introduction to the theory of X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Spectrometry, and Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM/EDX) Microanalysis and includes a laboratory component where the techniques for data collection and data interpretation are demonstrated and discussed. Students must register for EMAT 471 Lab.
Prerequisite(s): Senior Standing or Consent. Course generally offered 2nd semester.
