CSCI 310 - Advanced Visual Basic3 credits (Hrs: 2 Lec., 3 Lab) This class is a continuation of the introductory Application Programming class . It will cover more advanced concepts in the Visual Basic Programming Language and how they apply to traditional business programming applications. Topic will include: ActiveXData Objects (ADO), Component Object Model (COM), ActiveXControls (creating and using and DLL’s), Windows Application Programming Interfaces (API). data access and report presentation within the Data Environment. This course will also cover the actual Deployment and Support of Applications. Each laboratory will consist of a short lecture followed by actual application development. Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to use advanced programming techniques commonly required for creating commercial quality software.
Prerequisite(s): CSCI 110 or consent of the instructor. Course generally offered 2nd semester.
