HSTR 202 - The 20th Century World II3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) Traces the course and impact of World War II with particular emphasis on the breakup of the European colonial empires and the emergence of new nations in Africa and Asia. Examines the rise to world dominance of the United States and the Soviet Union, the background to the Cold War, and the course of West” and “East” relations since 1945. Discusses the historical origins of major international problems (such as the Middle East, Latin American Revolution, Third World crises, etc.).
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or Consent of Instructor. Satisfies Humanities & Fine Arts core. Course generally offered 2nd semester every other year.
