EELE 446 - Wireless System Analysis3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) Provides an introduction to complex baseband signal representations for modern FEC-based OFDM wireless communication systems, with emphasis on Wi-Fi and cellular standards. Includes analysis of conventional single-input, single-output (SISO) wireless links using realistic channel propagation models and transceiver impairments; application of spatial processing and diversity techniques for single-user multiple-input, multiple-output (SU-MIMO) downlink and uplink communications; and performance evaluation using analytical and simulation-based methods. MATLAB-based simulation models are used to examine an exemplary modern wireless communication standard and related design problems.
Prerequisite(s): EELE 445 .
