ENVE 542 - Mine Reclamation and Beneficial Reuse3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) Closure, potential reuse/recovery and final reclamation is the final phase in the mine life cycle. This course addresses the practices that are important to a successful and sustainable mine development plan and eventual closure. The importance of effective management practices and integrating closure planning techniques into permit plans and engineering designs will be discussed and evaluated. Students shall develop and analyze multiple closure opportunities to determine the highest and best value.
Prerequisite(s): BS in Engineering, BS degree with technical experience, or approval by instructor.
