PET 304 - Rock Properties3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) The geological and petrophysical properties of oil and gas reservoir rocks will be studied. Topics will include porosity, permeability, wettability, capillarity, compressibility, and strength relationships. The use of cores, logs and lab test procedures to determine rock properties will be reviewed. Basic concepts of Darcy flow for oil and gas fluids in porous rocks will also be studied.
Prerequisite(s): PET 201 Corequisite(s): PET 205 Course generally offered both semesters.
