HUMN 3126 - Shakespeare: Tragedies & Histories3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) Surveys Shakespeare’s major tragedies and histories, and provides an introduction to Shakespearean criticism and scholarship, to Elizabethan dramaturgy, to pertinent features of the socio-historical context in which the works were written, and to recorded modern interpretations of the works. Close attention to dramatic poetics and prosody will include some coverage of relevant sonnets.
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or Consent of Instructor. Satisfies Humanities & Fine Arts core.
