HUMN 3116 - Shakespeare: Comedies & Romances3 credits (Hrs: 3 Lec.) Surveys Shakespeare’s major comedies and romances, and provides an introduction to Shakespearean criticism and scholarship, to Elizabethan dramaturgy, and to pertinent features of the socio-historical context in which the comedies and romances were written, and to recorded modern interpretations of the works. Close attention to dramatic poetics and prosody will include some coverage of relevant sonnets.
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing or Consent of Instructor. Satisfies Humanities & Fine Arts core.
